Pseudogene analysis

Understanding the mechanisms driving the genome evolution structure and activity requires the availability of high quality genome assembly and annotations. In our work we use focus on automatic and manual annotation of human genome as well as genomes from a variety of model organisms.

Cancer genesis and development

Genome annotation and characterisation work has further informed biomedical studies on a variety of cancers. In our work we leverage the availability of high quality annotation, transcriptomics, proteomics, and clinical data to study genetic changes in cancers and understand their genetic drivers and development.

Biomarker discovery

Biomarkers are a measurable biological characteristics that are evaluated as an indicator of normal biological, pathogenic, or pharmacological responses to a therapeutic intervention. Here, we attempt to identify novel biomarkers for disease diagnosis, prognosis, exposure, and environment by using genomic, proteomics and clinical data
